אלא הא דתנן מצא גיטי נשים ושחרורי עבדים דייתיקי מתנה ושוברים הרי זה לא יחזיר שמא כתובים היו ונמלך עליהם שלא ליתנם וכי נמלך עליהם מאי הוי והא אמרת עדיו בחתומיו זכין לו

Now, even if they have been cancelled, what does it matter, in view of your statement that 'the witnesses acquire for him [the right to the property] by [affixing] their signatures [to the document]'? — This statement only applies to a case where [the documents] came to his [the creditor's] hand,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Even if the creditor received the document at a later date, his right to the property is conceded from the date of the document.
